Found out about her while doing my research.

Kara Mann is the owner and founder of KMD ( Kara Mann Design).

A Chicago based design office and another one in New York.

What i like about her work is her use of interesting pieces;

the use of high contrast in texture and colors.

She combines them well and creates a classy, sophisticated and glamorous result.

another designer that i look up to is the hongkong based architect/designer Steve Leung, owner of Steve Leung Designers Ltd. that operates in China and has won numerous awards for hotel, retail, restaurant and office design projects.

His designs are sleek, very modern, sophisticated with touches of classics and chinese elements.

graffiti

graffitis on walls, an act of vandalism? not anymore!

it has now evolved and developed and used as a decorative element on public walls and also in interior design.

It gives character and distinction to any surface or room.

this movement has been around for quite some time already,and has been done by designers and artists from other parts of the world in hospitality, restaurant and bar designs, even in residential designs... but for a conservative country like the philippines...it only just started...

One of the groups who started the movement here in the philippines is WeeWilldoodle ...a group composed of artists and graphics designers who collaborate and create doodles on walls using markers..

another group is the MOVEMENT69 who does it in color and uses spray paints in doing their artworks..

Hotel Particulier boutique hotel

The hotel particuliere...a classical directoire style mansion, restored and converted into a boutique style hotel surrounded by a garden in Montmarte , Paris, France, opened in June 2007.

The concept was born from the creative minds of Morgane Rousseau (owner and manager) and Frédéric Comtet with the help of Mathieu Paillard. Together with some well-known artists, designers, architects and artists that collaborated with them, the concept was realized and they created 5 different rooms with different characters namely; the room "tree with ears", designed by Pierre Fichefeux, a young illustrator and art director; the "vegetal room" or "chambre végétale” by Martine Aballéa, an artist; the room "curtain of hair" by artist and photographer Natacha Lesueur; The room “Poems and hats” by Olivier Saillard, a curator; and The “Vitrine room” by Philippe Mayaux, painter and sculptor.
